This car is very nice on the outside but has a lot of issues especially on the inside. Outside: Beautiful but does not look like a Ferrari. People probably going to think when this car passes is that a Aston Martin lol 😂. Inside: Why did they put almost every button on the steering wheel that’s not good at all especially when it’s manual because people can cause a accident or something. Same with the touch screen literally if the owner hits something especially someone’s car by looking at the touchscreen it can lead to a lawsuit and maybe for Ferrari too being sued for it. Another thing is this car should not be a 4 seater I mean you can use that as extra space and groceries but I wouldn’t even put my child or dog in the backseat because it could be dangerous and looks very uncomfortable. Everything seems to almost be electrical which isn’t good and will cost a lot more to fix of course. This is my opinion I don’t think this car will sell that well unless it was the cheapest Ferrari. I think it could be the worst Ferrari they have made.

There is trick with touch screen. Benefits -Can put more buttons on less surface (built in sub-bbutton) -Can shuffle buttons over the screen with update -less wires behind as before every button had dedicated wires and now whole screen has only few that connect to main processor that then sends specific wiring to device. - further in future, electronics will get so cheap and advanced that it is very plausible that someone will make of the counter upgrade set for peanuts (where now slow and lagging bulky processors get replaced with phone sized supercomputer for todays standard and "screen" panels include real 3d haptic feedback) Flaws -for todays standard very slow processing unit (and poorly programmed so it lies heavy on the hardware) in the car makes you feel you're in some crappy 10k car - current touchscreen non haptic feedback resulting in unintentional push of the buttons on the steering wheel or lagging or no reaction at all. -poorly incorporated looks of technology into surroundings - fingerprint magnet and eye bleeder as so many of those fingerprint cover shiny touchscreen surfaces are straight in your face. Could be a great car to buy cheaply in 5 years and wait additional 5 for those mods mentioned in benefits - but then do you want cash out 250k to drive a v8 that is not classic, not as fast, nor great or special at anything now and will be a snail for futuristic cars that run on electricity ? Hell I'd rather buy Tesla model 3 performance 60k than this for thrills and not be afraid if i get a stone chip, or if i press too hard on engine that has million miles warranty instead visiting service every 10k with tear in the eye and hole in the pocket for mediocre ferrari.... (didn't even wanted to compare it to tesla model s plaid (150k$) as it would be insult for Plaid) Supercar brands are in deep shit recenty as only super thing about them was that illusive acceleration, and thrill on the curvy road, but semi"cheap" in comparison ev market took that from them. They need to really push hard now and they are pushing on the heavy priced edge but it is "dead horse" race where they put heavily unjustified prices on top of line gass guzzling engines that have no connection with reality - any car above 400k$ is just sold fog and fairy dust... and that fairy dust in this specimen is worth about 180k$ - this car and tech are hard pressed to be worth excess of 70k without ferrari badge.

I think the beauty of this car’s design is it flies under the radar. It’s a true GT car. It’s like a Continental GT. People buy it because it’s luxurious, comfortable, elegant, and (in comparison to exotic super cars) under the radar. This Roma has all that with the added Ferrari performance and heritage. Yes, this car does look like an Aston but I think that’s the beauty of it. You admire its beauty first then you soon realize that it’s a Ferrari. Although I have to admit, its interior is lazy. Modern but lazy. You can be modern without having a design like this Roma’s interior.

I know I'm nitpicking what is an otherwise amazing car but if I was buying a Ferrari, let alone my first, I'd like it to feel like I was turning the car on with a key and/or a button. Touching a black plastic surface doesn't cut it. This isn't a $299 game console, it's a supercar. I'm guessing there were lots of management arguments about the switch to all touch screens. Looks like the old school guys lost.

All these screens instead of buttons are going to look horribly dated in a hot second. They are dumb AF because you can't grope your way to them without looking at them. Fail, fail. Also, even Ford has a smarter door unlock logic! Single press, open driver's door. Second press, open passenger door. The THIRD press should open the hatch. Doug did a Bugatti Chiron review, "Here's why the Bugatti Chiron is Worth $3 million" And around the 16:45 mark in that video he says: that Bugatti specifically didn't go for screens and displays, as they felt it would "date" and "age" the car badly and quickly make it feel old.. Ferrari should probably listen to that a little more.

  • AstroSteve

Ferrari: trying to keep controls on the steering wheel, to keep the driver engaged in driving. And drive safely. Also Ferrari; turns most of the controls into non-tactile screen buttons, so you HAVE to look where and what you're pressing and can't just feel for a button. disengaging you from driving and drive in an unsafe way.... it's a problem for most cars these days.. trying to reinvent the wheel with controls and screens. And then even multiple screens?... a whole separate thing for the mirrors?I haven't touched my mirrors in the 2 years that I have my car. Keep the button, or move it to the centre control screen, you never use it anyway.. but the airconditioning? seat heating? something you might use daily.. no no.. that can't be a button or it's own separate thing.. And what the hell is going on on the gauge cluster display, when Doug flicks through the different modes.. and touches the centre touch screen.. even the first generation iPad as smoother controls. It very very VERY quickly dates a car and makes it feel old.

If they want a 2X press for the trunk that's still possible with a single button. The Renault Clio used have a key with a single button (they may still have) and it was by far the best key I've used. Press to close; press to open. Most cars fold the mirrors and flash the lights twice anyway, so it's easy to know if the car is closed are open. And if they really wanted they could always include an LED that is green for open presses and red for closed. Two, three and four buttons is unnecessary and inelegant.

This era of cars, where every manufacturer tries reinventing the interior by removing all buttons and dials with complicated screens, is maddening and will not age well. Protip for canyon and touge drivers: google maps on desktop is a very powerful tool for mapping drives. You have to be considerate of some things, such as turning off GMaps automatically selecting alternative routes, but you can put up to 10 waypoints, though, then send it to your phone. Only particularly useful if you use a phone mount or Android Auto. You can use GMap on your phone to do the same thing, but it's cumbersome and takes 3x as long.
